Outer Space Girl Commission

This Image was done for a customer who wanted a “Space Girl” image. I love the retro space explorer look that was popular in the 1950′s & 60′s. If time permits at some point in the future I’d love to do a comic that has a look like this.

Luxura: Vampire Bites #1

Cover art to Vampire Bites #1. This was one of the first times that I showed Luxura in a different outfit. I didn’t continue this series because it was just too redundant. There was already a Vamperotica monthly anthology and I ultimately decided not to publish too many of the same type of books.

Luxura: Drop Dead Dangerous Cover

This is the cover to the Vamperotica Drop Dead Dangerous Trade Paperback. I was going for a loo that was a little more spooky in this image. I think that the bats add just the mood I was looking for.

Legends of Luxura #1 Cover

This is the line art to Legends of Luxura #1. It took me about three full days start to finish. This was one of the first spin off titles of Luxura from the original Vamperotica comic series. The original art is around 11×17 on smooth bristol and was done with a B- lead mechanical pencil,  Pigma Micron pens and Windsor Newton Series 7 sable brushes. I used sizes 1 to 3.

Luxura: Vampress of Mars

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of the John Carter: Warlord of Mars series. I was first introduced to it as kid via the Marvel Comics series. The art was by Gil Kane, Dave Cockrum and Rudy Nebres and the art is just spectacular. Dark Horse comics has an excellent reprint collection of the comics in print. Luxura’s suit in this image is a direct homage to one of the amazing Dave Cockrum covers.

Luxura: Blood Raider

I’m a big fan of the Tomb Raider video games, starting all the way back to PS1. My son and I used to stay up all night playing the game. That back when you only had certain save points every so often. Took me months to beat the game but it was a blast. I guess Luxura likes Cosplay too.

This image was published as a back cover to one of the Vamperotica Pin-up Books.

Xena #1 Cover

This image started out as an idea I had for a female superheroine who was the “Superman” so to speak of her world. It was a world where almost everyone had super powers and the most powerful of them all was enlisted by the government to keep all the others in line. The scary part is that she would only warn you once and if you messed up again she would just kill you since the prisons just can’t hold the super powered people. I called the character Xena, and that was a few years before the TV series came out. I had another name for the book which was “Well Endowed”. I used that as a play on words since in the story people with super powers were called the “Endowed”.

Seemed like it would be a good play on words since Xena herslf is “Well Endowed” in more ways than one.

The following is the advertising description for the comic.

In a futuristic world where super powered people are common, the authorities have a unique problem. How do they police beings with vast powers and abilities? They arrive at a solution and that solution is ZENA. The most powerful super being on the planet is now the judge, jury and executioner whenever a super being commits a crime. Break the law, pay the price. Zena is watching!

Vamperotica #1 Cover

This is the very first finished image of Luxura that I ever did. Prior to this I had only done sketches. At the time it was one of the best images I had ever done. I completed this image as the cover first and kept it in front of me while I worked on the first Luxura story. I wanted to make sure that the quality of the interior art matched the cover.
